I have been messing around with an alternative, but have run into a few problems. If you can open a "tty" connection using the open() command, and the manuals say that the read() and write() commands can be use with the "tty" connection, I am assuming that you can open files, allocate memory, and fill the memory with the file data. I have been able to open the connection, but I have been looking at the read() command and it doesn't allow for a file name!? Am I missing something here or is it just not possible to read a file in this way. This might all sound very much like a new programmer question, but I haven't worried about it until now, since I am attempting to allow for dynamic files so that I can have numerous, large levels. Your assistance would be appreciated, Nathan Miller Ryu-Ki Software nmiller@igalaxy.net
