It allowed you to save any game at any point in the game, and then reload it at that point, whether it had battery backup or not. I'm not sure, but it could be related to the "Pro Action Replay" by Datel. Datel made the Pro Action Replay, for sale in Europe and Japan. For US distribution, they licensed it to InterAct. It is exactly the same device, but with different codes in it (for US versions of games). It does work with Datel's CommsLink card for the PAR.
