First off is the simple reason, > it would allow piracy. I don't agree. Especially if the boot libs could read an ISO disk without copy protection, and the load address was fixed at 0x8090000. I think the memory resident Yaroze libs would get in the way of any commecial titles loading. (This would only work if the copy protection is in software. If it's hardware and can't be overidden by software, then that's a different matter.) Which brings me to a question. Can anyone explain why Sony gave us CdReadExec()? I can't see any way in which we can use it. > Second, this would make the Yaroze too close to > a full development kit, thus causing problems with developers who > probably paid excess of $20,000 for theirs. It would be a shame to destroy the Net part of Yaroze. I've changed my mind. I don't want to write my own CDs any more. I now think it's better this way. :) Herbs
