I suspect it is because everyone's pooped out after GDUK!!! I noticed that too. I did think of insulting Macs just to get a thread going. I was looking round for decent stuff to put in the newsletter and I can't find bugger all I can use. It's going out tomorrow and I didn't even begin putting it together. Serves me right for being lazy and expecting some poor saps to hunt down interesting tidbits for me. All I've got at the moment are some very obscure rumours about the next generation Nintendo system, and a couple of rumours about the Playstation 2. Apparently the Playstation 2 isn't going to include backward compatibility and is unlikely to have a home dev kit. But some possible good news is that Sony have come up with a mini playstation board that could either lead to a portable playstation, DVD's with built-in playstations or some kind of Gateway thing using PSX hardware. I'm probably just repeating stuff that's already been on the groups somewhere, but you can read all about it in the NYoosletter (which won't really go into much more detail). They're still only rumours though, unless someone better informed wants to clue us in. If anyone's got any info that's even remotely interesting about Yaroze stuff, events, games etc. then please mail it to me at ben.johnson@canada.com. I'm really stuck for ideas right now and would really appreciate any kind of help. If anyone's bored and looking for stuff to do, then try submitting some times for the Grav Compo http://i.am/bart.simpson Entry is free and you can send in as many times as you like. I ripped off James Russells' idea and threw together a fortune cookie program to swap my sigs, so I'm just looking for any excuse to make posts now. I'll post the script up if anyone wants it (about 10 lines of dodgy Perl) and suffer the consequences later if people actually use the thing. It would require the flaky Mac or DOS ports of Perl to run though. All pretty academic considering most of you could write a better C version in your sleep, and such programs are freely available (though I haven't a clue where) Yes, I did think of downloading DOS Smartbee and catting the fortune to a file, but it doesn't work. I'm sure there's something here that can kick off a thread.. Rob Ryan. -- Lionel Hutz: "Well, he's had it in for me ever since I kinda ran over his dog." Marge: "You did?" Lionel Hutz: "Well, replace the word 'kinda' with repeatedly and the word 'dog' with son."
