Since we know that the next system will be backward compatible as far as software is concerned and (according to Edge) the controller ports may even be the same, it's pretty much a given that familiar 'Playstation' name/logo will carry over to the new system in order that people will relate existing sotware and peripherals to it. 'Playstation' may well become a generic identifier for a group of compatible products in much the same way as 'Compact Disk', 'VHS' or 'Dolby'. That being said, games for the new system will not run on the current playstation so they are going to have to have some sort of prefix/suffix - how about 'Super Playstation' ! The more I think about it the more I like that name. Apart from anything else it opens the door for the resurrection of the of the better console magazines - 'SuperPlay' :-) - Miles
