Lightweights :) WinZip (for example) can spot when a single archive file has been further compressed by some other method. And it has the further advantage of supporting proper filenames. While there's undoubtedly a lot of SCEE-sourced info which has no excuse to be anything except ZIPped, some Sony material comes direct from SCEI and was probably prepared on Sony NEWS machines which may not recognise the PC standard.
