The way some 3D packages do motion blur is to draw the same frame (well the next 6 frames) starting of almost transparent coming up to drawing it with no transparency. Like I say this is probably very slow because you are drawing the same frame 6 times... an alternative would be to grab the screen buffer and paste the screen down 6 times instead of the entire scene, you could also rotate it as you lay it down as in Final Fantasy.
