I don't reckon all the invaders ought to need multiple hits, maybe just a few of the top layer. Maybe they should change colour after each hit too? I like the idea of defending the ground and invaders swooping to steal it, maybe they should stay there longer tho so you have time to blast them before they dissapear, or maybe somekind of warning that they are about to swoop down?
