If you let it rest for about 5 seconds or so it won't let you select 2 Player or select centre screen. When the game starts the cursor is on 2 Player then that choice becomes ghosted and the cursor jumps to 1 Player from then on you can't choose centre screen i.e. bypass the 2 Player choice (I havn't tried a second pad in yet). I don't know if this happens EVERY time as I only tried it 2 or 3 times (the AI was killing me so I respectfully knew when to give up :)).
