There are 4 different levels (I forget which one does what, but I've had mine set at 4). I'm still not sure it'll convert the divide by 1024 to a shift though, since I think there is a subtle difference between dividing and shifting when the number being shifted is negative, so it probably would only do it if the variable is declared as 'unsigned' ... (that is if it can be bothered anyway!) Jon
