I just assumed it was an optimization thing and didn't much else about it. It may be serial ports vary from computer to computer, I was at one point using a laptop connected to the yaroze and it was a lot more fussy about the connection than my main PC. I don't think using an Intel or AMD PC will make a difference to your compiled exe, but you might want to do a file compare to make sure.
