Setting the speed lower will work but it isn't perfect, I still find PSXCOMMS to be a good halfway house, it works with the memory card functions, and is really close to SIOCONS, I'm actually going to take a look at the code for SIOCONS and see if I can get it to work with 2k/XP at the highest COM speeds.
