In the Transparency settings there are two check boxes. One is TRANSLUCENT EXCEPT BLACK, the other is TRANSPARENT FOR BLACK. I would have thought that TRANSLUCENT EXCEPT BLACK would have left the value of black at 0x0000, but it doesn't, it changes it to 0x8000. However, if you check both boxes, it looks like it sets the data correctly. I havn't actually looked at it on the screen, but it looks right in a hex editor.
