Once you load the TMD into memory, figure out where the vertices are (use the TMD format file) and just adjust them as necessary. I used this to do some morphing on a logo. If you want the lighting to be correct, you'll have to recalculate the normals too, but if the movement is slight, it doesn't make much difference. This is assuming, of course, that you don't want to dynamically add or subtract polygons from the model which is possible but more complicated.
