I've still not gotten round to debugging some stuff in assembler to see how many registers are typically available for use.... when I find a simple rule-of-thumb typical value for how many registers are spare, then I'll post it here. At the end of the day that's still what I want to find-out so that I can tailor my programming style accordingly. it's good to know it does register colouring anyway. Jon
