After the libs cause an exception, I immediately run my program again and do the exact same thing, but this time around the read/writes work! I'm hoping that the functions maintain integrity while a program is running, so that you can test to see if the i/o is working in the beginning before you go through the trouble of making progress in your game/editor. Maybe I should break down and get Pro Action Replay...
