Net Yaroze should hopefully give many hundreds of would be Games Programmers the ability to develop high quality software. Previously the high cost of professional development systems have prevented this, but with Sony’s initiative to get back to the good old days of programming this is now within everyone’s grasp. A huge number of great games were produced by just one or two people hacking away in some back-room at home without anything other than a simple development system ( usually producing, compiling and debugging the code on the target machine itself ! ). Sony’s commitment to the home developer should, we hope, see the re-emergence of this trend for a whole new group of people. As a company we are very keen to see any demos or games you may develop for the Net Yaroze and to help you let your idea flourish.
