Time Slip v1.1 by David Johnston and Mike Goatly The idea -------- You control Super Snail who has been caught in a space/time distortion and cannot escape. This means that every minute or so he travels back in time (time to a time slip is shown by the clock in the top-right of the screen). In fact he travels back only about or minute or so meaning that there are now two copies of himself wandering about. Sadly this distortion keeps repeating itself resulting in even more past echoes jumping around the place. As every quantum physisist knows, bumping into another version of yourself is very bad for the general universe as a whole so it needs to be avoided. What to do ---------- So, the idea of each level is to collect a certain amount of coins and reach the exit. Barring your way will be some nasty creatures and floor pad activated doors. A door will have 2 symbols beside it so the floor pad corresponding to those symbols will open that door. Unfortunately the door will only stay open while you are standing on the pad. So how do you get past a door? Well, if you stand on a pad to open the door and then a time slip occurs you will be at an earlier point in time that when the door opens, so mosey over to the door and wait for your earlier self to stand on the pad. Confused! Let's hope so :) Snail Scanner ------------ At the bottom of the screen is your snail scanner. This lets you see what snails from past occasions are nearby. The line extending from the centre of the scanner points in the direction the snail is with respect to you and the size of snail is how far away it is. The Keys -------- Cross - Jump Circle - Fire Square - Speed up time (useful if you are standing on a switch) Stuff to remember ------------------ The best way to understand this game is to start playing it but here are a few things to be careful about. Be careful when you are about to time slip. If you are standing on a moving platform then the chances are it won't be where you are now when you go back in time. The same applies to any enemies, even one's you have killed, remember you are going back in time so you will be going to a time before you killed them. Flashing clocks appear where enemies start when you are about to time slip so stay away from them. If you are close to going back in time then there isn't much point in killing something because it will only be dead for a short time in the minute the game takes place in. Allways keep one eye on what you are doing and one on the clock. You don't want to collide with an earlier version of yourself so try and remember what position the clock is at if you are doing something you might need to know later on.
