Never in the history of mankind has so little been achieved by just one man.
I have had my Yaroze for around 13 months now. This page is testament to my innate laziness.

This page will be devoted to showing the on-going progress of whatever.
Currently that whatever is "game 1" (working title), following warm on the heels of the riveting "Homer Sez".

"GAME 1" (Working Title)

13th February

"game 1" is more playable

Wow. My laziness knows NO bounds. It's taken me more than 2 months to do any more work on this!

I've added some sounds. They're not great but they do improve the game somewhat. I've also added some 'intelligent?' collision detection that tries to move you round blocks to avoid the stickiness that otherwise occurs. Not perfect though.

The game still lacks interaction between the players. I need to add more collectable items, and improve the scoring system, which is frankly awful. I'm not going to animate the players' sprites since trying to draw is too much hassle.

. . .

Time taken so far:

Too long (Because I started getting really lazy)
Expected completion date: End of February.

31st October

"game 1" is now playable

No player animation due to my inability to draw, and no sound (yet).

Problems include the system used for valuing patterns not being very good, and the interaction between players needs to improve through further collectable items.

. . .

Time taken so far:

About 3 weeks
Expected completion date: Might finish it when I get back from holiday. Is it worth finishing? Feedback please.

15th October

"game 1" has moved into Hi-Res, and the graphics have improved (slightly).

Second player has been added, and the gameplay is at a rough but implemented stage.

Animation, sound and a nice title screen have all to be added. I'm also not happy with the collision detection so this will probably get re-written.

. . .

Time taken so far:

About 2 weeks (Although I spent about 3 weeks developing libraries to speed up development times)
Expected completion date: End of October.

5th October

"game 1" is an overhead two-player game which looks a little like Bomberman but has none of the excitement.

Currently the game is lacking all of the gameplay.

Player movement, the collision detection and the power bar (implemented as a GBOXF with no floating point calculations) are in place. I'm sure it goes without saying that the graphics are temporary.

. . .

Time taken so far:

About 1 week (Although I spent about 3 weeks developing libraries to speed up development times)
Expected completion date: End of October. (Barring any more damn crashes forcing me to format my hard drive)
