Playstation Link Demonstration 16/06/99 This program has been written to show how the Libcyc functions can be used to link two playstations together, and to pass data packets between them. The data transferred is the controller data from each playstation, which is used to move 4 boxes around the screen. If you havent done so already, please read the readme.txt file that came enclosed with the zip archive, and if necessary copy Cyclone, the libcyc library and other related files to the appropriate directories. PC Transfers To link-up two playstations via a PC modem connection, or to run test packet transfers between PC and playstation, execute the autopc.bat file. Within the pcauto siocons batch file, make sure the path on the Cyclone command line is correct so that the cyclone.cfg file can be found. When the demo has loaded, follow the prompts on the playstation and PC screens to create a connection and transfer data. When running test transfers, the packets are sent from the playstation to the PC, which sends them straight back again. This means the local pad data will be sent out and returned to the playstation as remote data, the first controller controlling boxes 1 and 3, and the second controlling 2 and 4. Playstation Transfers To link-up two playstations via a link cable, the demo program needs to be loaded from the PC to both playstations. Connect the first playstation to the PC and execute the autopsx.bat file, when the demo program has loaded and is running, connect the second playstation to the PC and run the autopsx.bat file again. With both playstations running the demo program, plug in a link cable to connect them together, then follow the screen prompts to connect and to transfer data between them. If connecting two yaroze playstations, remove an access card from one of them before exiting. Video Modes The demo runs in PAL mode by default, to run in NTSC, hold down the Start button as the demo starts. When connecting two playstations together, make sure they are both running in the same video mode.
