CURRENT NEWS

06/9/99:
Latest version (0.95b) now available in NTSC (downloads section).
I have now moved house. We don't have a phone line at the moment. I'll have to check my mail on a friends computer, so I will not be able to reply as fast as I would want to.

28/8/99:
Four player version of snake available NOW! (downloads section). Some screenshots of the new and improved snake are available in the
(projects section).
If anyone is interested, I haven't moved house quite yet (see below for more details). We've had loads of problems with solicitors wasting time and pushing back the completion date. I should be moving up there next weekend, so do not be surprised if I don't reply to my mail for a while after then.

2/7/99:
I have now added 3 and 4 player modes to snake. Also a "co-operative mode" where all of the snakes have one set of lives, where co-operation is survival!
As we have no access to the multi-tap code, there are two people to a pad. My present lack of available friends (they are all at university or moving to Manchester), means that I have not been able to test the multiplayer modes properly. As far as I know, all of the bugs in the previously released versions of snake are fixed.
I do not want to release the game too often. As the differences between the releases might not warrant much interest. So, in short, I am not going to release the latest form of the game for a while yet, at least not until it has been tested properly (a mistake I made on the last release). If you are in a charitable mood (and have some friends), I could do with your help in testing the multi-player modes. Mail me, and I'll mail you the latest version (remember to state NTSC or PAL). Any constructive comments, bugs found or ideas are always useful. But do bear in mind that the game is a bit messy around the edges and I have a lot of tidying up to do.

30/6/99:
I'm going to be moving house sometime next month (possibly early August). I'm moving in with a mate in a small town called Frinton (East Essex) which is by the sea. I've never lived by the sea, so it'll make an interesting change. We're hoping to get hold of some arcade cabs to fill up the garage (and possibly the living room), as another mate of mine is into restoring arcade machines. I hope to get back to yaroze programming soon after moving in, but it might be a while, with all of the upheaval of moving house :(

Added on 15/5/99:
Beta 0.92 of snake is available for download here
New to version 0.92 is a save feature, which allows you to start the game on certain levels once you have previously got to them. This is wiped when you reset the playstation (there is no memory card save for this at the moment). The game will save every 5 levels. To start on a level, press right/left on the pad when "one player game" is selected.

The 's' column in each score table corresponds to the level which each game started on.

Added on 16/4/99:
The first beta version of snake is available for download

Added on 11/3/99:
The whole site is updated. Screenshots of Snake in Projects area.

I must apologise for my lack of commitment to the web page, but hopefully the game is a worthwhile end result of a couple of months programming! If the game is popular enough I might even add a high score table on my page.

Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions, bugs or suggestions!
