Hello and welcome to my web page. I’m afraid there isn’t much here at the moment, because I’ve just got my membership and I’ve just started a new job. So just consider this as being under construction.
I can however point you in the direction of my esteemed colleague Scott Campbell.
I have recently started work for GE Harris Energy Control Systems UK as a software engineer, shortly after completing my honours degree in computing science at the University of Glasgow. My eventual hope, like most of you lot, is to write the worlds best game, get a cool job, be rich, et cetera.
As my first project, I writing a game, based on certain trilogy of films (because I can't come up with my own ideas), whose main purposes are:
To learn the libraries;
As a test bed for the development of my libraries;
Currently it is a 2D vertical scrolling shoot 'em up, which uses prerendered frames from the model shown below. It has analogue controller support, but not digital (erm!), sound and some collision detecion. My next goal is to put the sprite into a 3D world. If you want to see an early version of this game I think it's avalilable at escotia's site.
The game, soucre and libraries (early version) will hopfully be completed soon, and I'll post them as soon as they are, but for now here's a wee taster.
Rendered with Imagine on an accelerated A1200.
Apart from contributing on a couple of projects with the a fore mentioned Mr Campbell I haven't done very much, but I hope to be able to do more once I settle in to my new job.
