Special
thanks go to these people:
Karen
(my wife), she's great, and keeps me sane.
Becky
(my daughter, 23mths), beautiful and very intelligent for
her age (gets it from me, that's obvious)
DEnnis,
I guess no NetYaroze site would be complete without a
mention of this guy! I met this guy on the Middlesex course,
and after a couple of days, got to like him. Now, we're best
buddies (he lives in the Netherlands), and have begun to
make game development plans.

This
is me!
This
picture was taken by my very good friend DEnnis using his
digital camera, on the recent Middlesex University Net
Yaroze course, run by Peter Passmore and assisted by Robert
Swan (great course mate!) I don't know what I was doing when
this photo was taken!
I'm
30-ish years old, married, and happy.
I've
been interested in computers since I owned a Sinclair ZX-80,
way back in 1980. Programming became a love for me much more
about 3 years ago, and I have spent as much spare time as I
can since (which hasn't been very much!) in the pursuit of
digital happiness!
I've
done some C programming on my Apple Mac, but really wanted
to know how different it was to program a console. When I
found out about the Middlesex University course, I joined
immediately; it was excellent. Now, I have put my Mac
programming on hold (apart from
MacMemTool)
to further NetYaroze programming, which I am now
enjoying.
I
also enjoy 3D work, creating models and scenes (I use
Maxon's Cinema4D XL - you've gotta check this package out!)
I'm kinda working on a 3D movie, which is a 'take-off' of
Star Trek Deep Space Nine. I've got some models, and stuff
(I even composed the main theme tune using my Korg Trinity
keyboard!). Ask me about it if you're interested in seeing
anything! It'll make much more sense if you know anything
about the DS9 series (Thanks Paramount!)
I
live in Hertfordshire, about 5km north of London, slightly
out in the country, with fields all around, in a village
called Cuffley (you must have heard of it..!) It's quite
peaceful, not as noisy and dirty as London, yet not too far
away (I work in London during the week).
My
aim is to get into the 'Games Industry' (who isn't?)
sometime next year (1999), so I've got to work hard at the
NetYaroze for the next 9 months.
UPDATE
(December 1998): My wife just had a baby (Andrew James), and
that is taking up most of my time now!! Hopefully, in a few
weeks, I will be back in the swing of things.
