Combat3D V0.2 ============= Thank you for choosing Combat3D, the best in the old-Atari-games-converted-to-3D class.... What you get ------------ This is the second special preview demo, and my entry into the Edge Compo. Much of what will be in the final game, doesn't work or is just plain not there. Currently you can play a one or two player shoot-out, with guided-missiles only, but flying those missiles is fun... Getting started --------------- Something along the lines of SIOCONS [favourite baud rate] COMBAT should do the trick. Rules ----- Shoot your opponent, lots of times. Primitive scroing has been implemented but there are no losers yet. Controls -------- Most of the time you'll be steering your tank, in order to get into a good enough angle to destroy your opponent, or avoid there 'deadly' missiles. Tank ---- [^] Forward (/\) Change viewpoint Anti-Clockwise [<] [>] Clockwise Join/Leave ([]) (O) [v] Backward (X) Fire Join/Leave toggles demo/1-player for pad 1, and 1/2 player for pad 2 Viewpoint cycles through the 4 available viewpoints, tank/cockpit/satellite/umpire Holding the bottom right shoulder button (R1) when firing gives you missile viewpoint Missile ------- [^] (/\) Anti-Clockwise [<] [>] Clockwise Join/Leave ([]) (O) [V] (X) Destroy Destroy cancels your missile - normally lasts for 10 seconds Radar ----- In certain viewpoints you will be presented with a radar, showing you, and your opponent enabling you to see them try to sneak up on you (they can also see you sneaking up on them) Drone ----- When in 1 player mode the computer will control the other tank, the drone tank is stupid, but ruthless. Maze ---- There are now raised blocks for you to hide behind, to avoid being blown up. Known bugs ---------- Yes, even though its only a demo, it still has features... 1) Sometimes the Drone can decide to fire, but instead lurches forward and no missile appears. - This is actually the missile 'backfiring' and shooting itself 2) Not really a bug, but the maths controlling the Drone can go wrong and it will fire at nothing. Still to Come ------------- Almost everything, see the following pages http://www.netyaroze-europe.com/~majik-zx/combat3d.html General game info, features etc. http://www.netyaroze-europe.com/~majik-zx/combat3d-game.html Nice HTML version of the instructions.
