Newcomers
Simple Introductions
What does the title 'Newcomers' mean? This page isn't for people who haven't been to
my site before in particular, but for people who are new to the yaroze thing in
general. Yes, you know who you are. This (at the moment) is just a general push
towards making people known. I want you all to make yourselves visible! Honestly, the
newsgroups aren't the same old intelligent in-crowd passing the time with intellectual
conversation, ready to laugh at the first post by a new person asking how to do
something simple like creating sound effects from a few sine curves dynamically in
memory and what-not, despite what it may seem. (Of course, I personally detract
from that image, especially with my juvenile humour)
I put this page up quickly to let people know what it intends to be, and that is a
guide to getting started with the Yaroze. It seems that a few new people have just
appeared, so I thought I'd try and put some work into this page. What eventually it
will be is full of nice pointers to where to get demos of particular effects and so
forth, because there are loads of nice demos aimed at beginners, its just a case of
finding the damn things!
For now, you could do worse than look at my downloads page, which has the code to
put up one sprite. Wahay!
My apologies to people who come to this page thinking it would suit those of you who
had just arrived from outer space.
