TANX2 V1-07 ALPHA VERSION Hi there, Well, it's finally in some sort of working condition, so I thought I'd send it out for download. The whole thing's a bit more futuristic than Tanx, and hopefully you'll think the graphics are a bit better too! I've included the source code as well, read the start of main.c for an update diary on the game. Tanks to Andy Weissl, who started to help code the game, but had to drop out becaue his pc couldn't connect to his Yaroze anymore ( good luck getting it sorted Andy ). The pad routine and some fixes to the code are his. Thanks a lot mate. There's a few things to be done yet: Victory camera sequence Start-up sequence SFX ( the old tanx ones are in as placeholders just now! ) Special effects to show activation of shield and invisibility Bots( fair bit of work needed here! ) Weapon and Game balancing ( feedback would be appreciated on this ) Analogue support Effects for specials wearing out Right, batch.sio will get it loaded into the yaroze if you didn't know already. IN-GAME CONTROLS: LEFT/RIGHT - rotate tank left/right UP/DOWN - forward/back L1/R1 - rotate turret left/right L2/R2 - reset turret straight ahead X - fire O - use first special pickup in queue SELECT - take snapshot In the options screen it's up/down and X to move the cursor and select/update option. WEAPONS (lower right icon) Cannon, Laser cannon, Railgun, Flamer, Missile Launcher, Tazer gun. POSSIBLE NEW TYPE - napalm disk ( to be added ? ) SPECIALS(lower left, up to 3 icons) Invisibility ( can still be seen on minimap ), Shield, Random Teleport, Emp-shock ( disables minimap ), speed-up circle activates the bottom special, then they all shunt down one. Collecting more than 3 replaces the third special. You can activate more than one, so you can layer the effects strategically ie. combine emp-shock and invisibility for true stealth. Feedback would be greatly appreciated! Especially gameplay & weapon balancing stuff, they need quite a bit of tweaking. Cheers all, Stuart.
