Tanx is my first attempt at a Playstation game. It's a two playeronly split-screen game with three game types and a few power-ups

Power-up turrets are: large missile, missile pack and field gun ( you start with a basic turret ).

The chassis power-ups are: half-track, wheeled, hovercraft and minelayer ( you start with a tracked chassis ).

Update 20/5/99 - Small update on the state of Tanx. Well, got the status bar to indicate the armour level of a tank, it was a lot easier than I'd anticipated. The three stars beside the status bar are what I call ' victory points ', light all three to win. Lighting them depends on the game type ( eg. kills in a duel, flags returned in search and retrieve, capturing and returning an enemy's flag). Next, the intro/options screen, then some sound. Not long 'till demo time...
Update 21/5/99 - Ok, so it's not that great an intro screen, but it gives the choice of game types and both players need to press 'x' to start ( or should that be 'start'? ). Put a logo in to fill the space above the text ( it looks like I'll probably stick with TANX as the title, since I can't be bothered thinking of anything better ).
Update 25/5/99 - Well, I've been working like mad to get some sort of early demo out, and here it is, no sound yet ( I need help on how to convert .wav files please! ), but everything else is more or less working ( I hope ). So what are you waiting for, download it and have a laugh at my feeble first C program!
Update 3/6/99 - I've been really busy the last week, so I've been unable to update the site for a week, so I'll now explain what I've been up to. Firstly, I've built in some more features/adjustments for Tanx. These include:

Destructable terrain - the walls can be blown to rubble, then cleared; Bigger & More maps - there's 3 maps to choose from now; Slightly improved explosions - theyre now textured with a fire pattern and increased in number for the big missile weapon; Slight speed improvement ; New intro view angle; Tank to tank collision detection ( slipped my mind for the last release, sorry )

Update 7/6/99 - Here it is, the final version of the game, a few additions to see, so have a bash. This is just about a wrap on this project folks, I'll get the sound sorted ( I need decent .wav files ) and then its 100% ito my new project 'Upload'...

Update 14/6/99 - I can't believe its been a week since the last diary entry. Oh well, I really think it's finished now ( I hope ). I've added some embelishments/improments to the intro screen and the hovercraft powerup now behaves ( a bit ) like the real thing. There's also an option to have rotating turrets as well. And more sounds. And the maps don't sit in space any more. And probably other things I've forgotton about.. So please give it a try and send me back some feedback. Ta.

Update 18/6/99 - Well, I've posted the game to George Bain for the Fame Game comp. and put 'TanxOPM' in the ftp site for anyone who's still interested, so here's hoping...

..and finally finished up on OPM issue 49.
