PSX sprite viewer ----------------- Use this program to view sprite files which have been converted with the STOS to PSX sprite converter. It is not meant to be anything fancy it is just a program I did in a couple of hours so I could check the sprite files were being converted correctly. You can also use it to edit the colours of the sprites as some of the colours do not quite convert correctly. Using the sprite viewer ----------------------- 1) Start the SIOCONS console tool. 2) press F9 then F4 to start the DLOAD command, give the filename of the sprite file you want to use along with the address which should be 0x80090000. 3) press F4 to start thr LOAD command, type psx.exe. 4) After the program has loaded type Go. or 1) start the SIOCONS tool with the auto file (you will have to edit the auto file to load different sprite files). Joypad functions ---------------- UP and DOWN - scroll through sprites L1 - enlarge sprite L2 - reduce sprite R1 - increase brightness R2 - reduce brightness LEFT and RIGHT - move through palette TRIANGLE - cycle between RGB elements of current colour SQUARE - increase colour component CIRCLE - decrease colour component START - reset sprite palette SELECT - quit Saving sprite files ------------------- If you change the colours of a sprite you can save these new colours to the sprite file. 1) Press F10 then F4 to start the DSAVE command 2) Enter a filename the address will be 8009000 and the size of the file you loaded (in hex)
