ABOUT ME
I am 18, in the first year of York University (anyone else there?) studying Computer Systems and Software Engineering. I have been programming most of my life, but mainly in basic (starting on the C64, then moving on to the amiga 500). When I got a PC, I started to learn C, then I got the yaroze - a dream come true (as you may agree) the ability to make games on a playstation WOW! I had to have one. That was almost 2 years ago (18 Feb 99). Since then, I began by messing around with sprites a bit, reading endless numbers of tutorials, getting many headaches when nothing wanted to work and finally (sort of) getting the hang of 2D creation. Then I started my first game - a destroy the bricks with a ball style game, just to see what I could do. I got so far on it, then I hit a few problems which I couldn't work out. After several mind-baffling weeks, I gave up (too much work, etc) until a few weeks ago when I decided to take another look. As if by magic, everything seemed to fall into place, I saw several obvious errors, which when fixed allowed the game to work correctly. It still isn't finished (probably never will be as it's a rubbish game and there's just the tedious stuff left like game over scenes and intro menus, etc) but it is in my ftp area for you all to laugh at :). I have started a new project, which I hope will be a huge success for me. It is also 2D, but when I finish it (or decide to take a breather) I will be attempting a 3D game, so please send me any 3D tutorials you think may help me.
