All of the programs and source code found in these directories were created for Sony Net Yaroze and unless stated otherwise were all written by me. The stuff directory below contains files that are stored in .HQX format (Binhexed), and as such will require a .HQX decoder. If you use a Mac (as I do) then this will be normal, but if you are using a PC and are used to .ZIP files then you are gonna need to get yourself a decoder. If you haven't already got it, get yourself off to Aladdin at http://www.aladdinsys.com where you will find an excellent freeware decoder called Stuffit Expander. You will need this (or something that can decode stuffit archives, 'cause that's what's inside the .HQX archives. The long and short of it is you need Stuffit Expander so go get it now. It can handle loads of archive types like .HQX, .ZIP, .ARJ etc, and it's free. Also all text files that are enclosed are in MacOS format, and as such will need converting. Any decent WP or text editing package will read in MacOS text and output PC ASCII text, so it shouldn't be a problem. If you want to code a small program to convert yourself, the only difference with MacOS text is that it doesn't have a linefeed (Chr$(10)) character at the end of each line with the return (Chr$(13)), as PC text does, all you need do is where there is a return, add a linefeed also, simple. The tools directory is subdivided into operating systems, and tools for each - where they exist - will be in the relevant folder. The file formats will be mixed, and again, the same programs are recommended for unstuffing the archives. Feel free to inspect, change, use, or laugh at any of the coding found here to your hearts content. All I ask is an e-mail in response letting me know if something has been useful to you, or if I've made some blundering error. We're all on this learning curve together and I don't claim to have any real answers, just experience from my yaroze coding so far, and I'm happy to share that with anyone who is brave enough to admit they need it.
