The Institute For
Telecommunications Research (TITR) at the University
of Wollongong is one of Australia's
premier telecommunications research sites. The Institute undertakes R&D
into such areas as ATM networks, mobile networks, speech and image coding,
multimedia, computer security and informatics research. The Institute is
strongly supported by the telecommunications industry, being sponsored
by companies including Telstra,
Vodafone, Nortel,
CSIRO, DSTO,
Motorola and Sharp.
One of our research interests is the network delivery of multiplayer
games through both PCs and Consoles. Our current Net Yaroze project
is looking at developing the network side of a multiplayer game system
for the Playstation.
