Beta version of Tower Power 1250 Tournament Edition by Alan Marshall Open GL Code adapted from a) PSX yaroze version also by me (Alan Marshall) b) Anargyros Sarafopoulos' OpenGL library N.B. This is a work in progress beta test unfinished demo version of my game which I hope to finish in the near future To Play game: IBM PC compatible OpenGL: After copying all files to hard drive, and extracting zip double click on Tp1250te.exe to play. OpenGL version should work on any IBM PC compatible machine with OpenGL acceleration. So far only tested on following PCs: Intel P2 450 and Diamond Fire GL1000 Pro/ Voodoo 2 Intel P2 450 with AGP Diamond Viper 550 Nvidia Riva TNT Intel P3 500, Voodoo3 3000, bugs: Voodoo graphics cards do not always display textures properly (especially board!) Nvidoa Riva TNT use 2.03 or above reference drivers for best textures Problems playing new games without quiting and restarting :( Stack over flow problen :( If Screen goes black, minimise and restore! Full screen mode is a bit flakey! Controls: (to be finalised, just chosen for my testing purposes) ******************************************************************************************************** , sidestep left . sidestep right m down f into screen v out of screen g/h rotate block clockwise/anticlockwise use num pad for camera movement(turn on num lock for easist control) 1,3 rotate board clockwise/anti-clockwise (This can cause problems with the controls, 8 zoom in if you go back to standard view all should return to normal!) 2 zoom out 4 camera left 6 camera right 7 tilt forward 9 tilt backwards - camera up + camera down 5 reset camera Also right click in game window for help/extra options *************************************************************************************************************** Game: The aim of the game is to build a tower. Like Tetris, blocks fall from the sky. Unlike Tetris the game is 3D. i.e. they fall in Y and you have the plane XZ to build a tower. As well as being moved about the area, blocks can be rotated about their Y axis. You only have a certain amount of time to build your tower. Rather than just build to a specific height, you also have to build a "solid" tower. To make the game a bit more interessting the weather plays a part in the game. If the weather is sunny play is not hindered, however, fog will obstruct your view, lightning will destroy blocks, and wind and icey conditions will alter the blocks movement. *************************************************************************************************************** I really would be very happy to receive any comments and opinions! A) It would help me improve my game B) It would help me to write my project write up for my MSc Digital Entertainemnt Systems C) It would mean I haven't been wasting my time doing this if it sees the light of day!
