18-July-2001 Hello Folks, this is a very rough preview version of "Obligator". You can't play the game yet as such but you can try-out moving around. The game is set in a room which has no gravity...so how do you move around? You move around using small compressed-air cylinders (not yet depicted in the game) attached to the back of your shins (your calves I suppose that'd be then). There is one cylinder for each leg. When you release air from a cylinder (with the L2/R2 buttons) it moves you. Simple? No, not simple... it's nearly impossible to get where you want to go...it's fiendishly annoying to try and control. You have to move your legs into the appropriate position to direct the jet in the direction you want it.... currently for the sake of this demo orange lines appear to indicate where the air jets come-out (near the back of your ankles). The eventual idea is to get the ball through an appature in your opponent's wall and score points in the traditional ball-game manner. Currently you'll be lucky to touch the ball. Hopefully I'll beable to make the game a bit easier, but it's always going to be a slow thoughtful kind of game. When ever I try and master the controls of this game I always end-up just spinning gracefully round and get toatally realxed and chilled-out, forgetting about trying to get anywhere near the ball...hmmm...floaty. Back buttons - L2/R2 -- thrust left/right L1/R1 -- control arm(s) instead of leg(s) while this is pressed Joysticks -- control left/right legs Arrow keys and triagle, square, X and O -- control left/right legs for users without analogue controls. Start -- return limb to default position Jon Prestidge.
