Problems Encountered
Things that have been driving me nuts

Well the Yaroze has arrived and within about an hour I have the first problem. Where the hell do I put it ?. Do I move my Yaroze to the my video (TV has no scart) and then move my PC to it. Or do I move my TV and Video setup to my PC. I suppose this could be a big debate about entertainment Vs programming but I think I will just put the Yaroze on my teak cabinate (it has wheels) so I can have the best of both worlds.
I am having a bit of a problem with screen flicker at the moment, and although there seems to be quite of lot of information around about this I have not been able to solve the problem. I have tried to display a single TIM file on the yaroze but I had a few problems setting up the screen correctly. So I decided to try some code that Ira had created (thanx), but this still had the same problem :
The Screen goes black and white and flickers vertically
Now I thought that it was something wrong with the code (no offence to your skills Ira) but I tried the Sprites demo from Sony and this had the same problem. I also tried a few other sets of code which I have downloaded from various kind people's FTP areas - But the problem remains. I have also found that if you type CB at the SIOCONS prompt (which should display a set of color bars) this has the same flicker.
This means (I think) that the code is alright and I have a hardware problem. The only thing I can think of is that I am processing my Yaroze output signal to a video SCART socket and then into my TV - as my TV does not have a scart. Could this have anything to do with it ?. Or is it a possible coding problem ?.
Thanxs to James Sutherland this problem has (sort of) been solved. The screen flicker is due to my hardware setup not being compatable with NTSC signals. I will just have to get a multinational TV with a scart or go through the code to make sure it is in PAL format. - Cheers James.
