I have been looking at different ways to achieve 3d animation on the yaroze if anyone has any useful findings or even some strange ones please let me know. I've already looked at RSDAnim and thought it was an excellent piece of work. I recently finished a project that involved me producing animation on 3D Studio Max 2.0 and then transfering them to the Net Yaroze.
This tutorial assumes that you know how to use 3D Studio Max. 2.0 or 3D Studio 4.0 and have at least achieved the basics on the net Yaroze such as displaying a 3D object. There are many ways to achieve animation on the Yaroze, but for detailed animation it is probably more practical to create these animation’s on some form of 3D software package and then implement them straight into your program. This is possible if we use something called a TOD file which is a file format invented by Sony that just contains animation data.
Creating an animation on 3D Studio Max.
Converting the Max file to a TOD file.
Using the TOD file in your program.
If you need any help or if there is anything missing from these files, then please email me so I can fix them or try to help you some how. If anybody wants me to convert their animation's to TOD files I'm afraid I can't help you as 3D Studio Max and 3D Studio 4.0 are on the Network at University and as I have just left I don't have access to them. Sorry!
Note: With the last few animations you can change the camera with the left and right buttons. Certain cameras might not allow you to see much!
